Dům v lese
The cube-shaped building is designed for construction on a sloping terrain alongside the existing forest path. Its structure applies the principles of the so-called Raumplan by Adolf Loos, the main difference being that the interior and its dimensions reflect very strongly in the external design of the building. All shared living spaces are interconnected in the floor plan and conclude in large openings in the external walls, which suggest the actual sizes of the interior spaces. These rooms are also used as the landings of a staircase that connects individual rooms. The character of the house gives the impression of a cross section of a building plan. Unlike the open shared areas, bedrooms are intimate with lighting and ventilation through the shared atrium situated at the highest point of the building. The house is a compact block cast in concrete.
