The proposed concept for adaptation of the public space in Kutná Hora is based on the intention to restore the original meaning of the streets and the square. This is achieved mainly by working with the material used for road surfaces, artificial lighting elements, street furniture and the information system, and most importantly, by adding dominating features or artworks to the public spaces. The purpose of these features (fountains, features, sculptures) placed according to historical maps is to enhance the dreamy atmosphere of a medieval town. The solution does not aim to restore the historical status, rather to modify the central parts of the town in a modern style based on the historical context but introducing new input relevant to the beginning of the 21st century.
